A modular shelving system for guitar pedals and small synthesizers. Developed with inspiration from Teenage Engineering to help musicians keep their (often beautiful) tools visible and not boxed up in a dark corner.
In this art project on the subject of identity I wanted to explore how context forms our identity. This 1x1m textile house is a model of the house I grew up in. It is made like a ghostly floating memory of childhood and what made me me.
A piece made to comment the perception of anxiety as being a source of creativity and particularly PMS and menstruation being a source of a mysterious female creative power. Virgina Woolf was one to speak about the creative power of the menstruation and feminist writer and illustrator Liv Strömquist has spoken about how PMS gives her a ”creative flow”.
The piece is made to give that sadness free range to do
it’s own creative process apart from the person it is attached to. The body’s way of expressing sadness, tears, are allowed to drip on to the textile creating an automatic print, the black liquid representing the tear passing through the painted female eye.
